Researchers are toasting another healthy benefit of red wine. They say it may help prevent fat accumulation in the liver. The study out of the university of south Florida says that consuming resveratrol could prevent fat accumulation in the liver. Resveratrol is a natural component found in red wine, grapes, and berries. Researchers say the build up of fat in the liver is the result of chronic alcohol consumption. Ironically, they say the resveratrol in red wine, could actually prevent fatty build-up by coordinating molecules that control fat metabolism. Studies have shown resveratrol may also have anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory properties and cardiovascular benefits as well.
